The Afro-Arab Youth Council participated in the 3rd Edition of the Algeria Youth Leaders Forum, held in Algeria at the end of December 2025, under the supervision of the Algerian Higher Youth Council and under the patronage of H.E. Mustapha Haidawi, Minister of Youth in charge of the Higher Youth Council, with the participation of national and African youth leaders.
This participation reflects the Council’s commitment to strengthening Afro-Arab cooperation in youth empowerment and promoting the exchange of experiences in leadership, civic engagement, and political and economic empowerment, in line with its strategic vision that positions youth as key actors in sustainable development and decision-making processes.
The Afro-Arab Youth Council was represented at the Forum by:
Mr. Khadim Diop, Vice President of the Afro-Arab Youth Council for the Francophone Group and President of the Senegal National Youth Council.
Ms. Fadimatou Iyawa Ousmanou, Deputy Secretary-General for the Francophone Group and President of the Cameroon National Youth Council.
Mr. Fouad Gouna Bouni, President of the Youth Council of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
The Forum featured high-level dialogue sessions, specialized workshops, as well as cultural and field activities, including an exploratory visit to the El Kantara region, highlighting Algeria’s rich historical and tourism heritage and fostering cultural exchange between Algerian youth and their African counterparts.
The Afro-Arab Youth Council commended the successful organization of the 3rd Edition of the Algeria Youth Leaders Forum and praised the pivotal role played by the Algerian Higher Youth Council, under the leadership of the Minister of Youth, in advancing political and economic youth empowerment and strengthening meaningful youth participation in public affairs. This reflects Algeria’s strategic commitment to investing in youth and promoting African youth diplomacy.
The Council emphasized that such initiatives represent a strong model for Afro-Arab integration and an effective platform for strengthening institutional partnerships among national and continental youth bodies, in support of youth causes and the building of a shared and sustainable future.
