In line with its commitment to promoting culture as a bridge for communication between Arab and African peoples, the Afro-Arab Youth Council praised the pioneering role played by the Kingdom of Bahrain in fostering values of coexistence, cultural openness, and strengthening Afro-Arab cooperation through its continued support for community and cultural initiatives that reflect unity in diversity and the convergence of civilizations.

This came in conjunction with a traditional heritage performance presented by Fina Khair Association and the Sudanese Al-Khawalda community in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as part of the Kingdom’s national celebrations, held ضمن the activities of the Al-Hikma Association for Retirees. The performance portrayed traditional Sudanese wedding rituals in an artistic folkloric display that reflected the depth of Sudanese cultural heritage through traditional rhythms and chants, amid strong audience interaction.

The performance provided a vibrant space for cultural exchange, reflecting an aspect of Sudanese social culture rooted in collective joy and solidarity. It also contributed to introducing the Bahraini audience to an authentic dimension of Sudanese heritage in a distinguished celebratory atmosphere, with broad attendance from association members and guests.

In this context, Ms. Haifa Al-Sheikh, Chairperson of Fina Khair Association and a leading figure in voluntary work within the Sudanese community, expressed her happiness in participating in the Kingdom’s national celebrations. She extended her congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and to the people of Bahrain, wishing the Kingdom continued security and stability.

She affirmed that the association’s participation reflects the Sudanese community’s commitment to positive engagement with Bahrain’s national occasions and contribution to community activities that embody the spirit of coexistence and openness. She noted that presenting the Sudanese wedding performance conveys a message of affection and appreciation and embodies values of family cohesion and community participation.

She added that the traditional attire worn by participants added an extra element of attraction due to its aesthetic appeal and its clear resemblance to traditional Bahraini clothing, reflecting the closeness of customs and traditions between the two societies and affirming that popular culture represents a shared space for human connection.

In reaffirming the strength of its partnership with the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Afro-Arab Youth Council noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the Bahrain Voluntary Work Society, serves as the coordinator of the Gulf countries within the Council and also holds the position of Assistant Secretary-General within the Council’s Executive Committee. This reflects the high level of confidence in Bahrain’s active role and its tangible contributions to supporting Afro-Arab youth and voluntary work.

The President and members of the Al-Hikma Association for Retirees expressed their appreciation to Fina Khair Association and the Sudanese Al-Khawalda group for this distinguished participation, affirming that the event added a cultural and humanitarian dimension to the celebrations and enhanced community interaction and cultural diversity.

The Afro-Arab Youth Council affirms that the Kingdom of Bahrain represents a leading model in embracing cultural diversity and supporting youth and civil society initiatives, contributing to strengthening bridges of communication between the Arab world and Africa and reinforcing culture as a tool of people-to-people diplomacy and rapprochement among nations.
